Johannesburg, Oct.12 : Opener David Warner and frontline pacer Mitchell Johnson have been called in for a training programme before the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.
Confirming the news, Cricket Australia said that Warner, Johnson,Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Coulter-Nile were added to the squad of 15-players who were meant to visit Bangladesh, Sport24 reported.
The Australia tour to Bangladesh was called-off due to security and safety concerns.
Warner, who suffered from left-thumb injury, has not played since last month’s ODI series against England.
Meanwhile, Australia had rested Johnson and Hazlewood following the recent Ashes defeat in England.
Australia’s preparations for a three-Test series at home against New Zealand will start from October 13 at Hurstville Oval in Sydney, while they will play their first Test from November 5 at Brisbane.
