Australia beat Sri Lanka by 81 runs

Bridgetown, May 10: Australia beat Sri Lanka by 81 runs in a Super Eights match of World Twenty20 here Sunday.

Deciding to bat first, Australia were in deep trouble after losing five wickets for 67 runs before Cameron White (85) and Michael Hussey (39) revived the innings with an unbroken 101-run stand.

Suraj Randiv took three for 20 while Angelo Mathews got two wickets.

Sri Lanka fumbled in their chase right from the start and were bowled out for 87 runs in 16.2 overs.

Mitchell Johnson took three wickets while Dirk Nannes and Setven Smith took two wickets each.
