Aurangabad: MGM Medical student strangulated to death in hostel

Aurangabad: A 21-year-old medical student was allegedly strangled to death in a college hostel located in Aurangabad.

According to police reports, the student identified as Akanksha Anil Deshmukh, hailing from Beed district, pursuing Physiotherapy course at Mahatma Gandhi Mission Medical College was found unconscious in her room by the hostel warden.

The hostel staff rushed her to the hospital but she was declared dead, PTI reported.

The autopsy report of the victim done at the city-based Government Medical College and Hospital revealed that she died of strangulation said Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Khade said.

The Police has registered a murder case under IPC section 302 (murder), he added.

The Police is now on manhunt for the culprit who killed the victim.
