Aurangabad: The unusual visuals of the 3-day ijtema of Tableeghi Jamaat which was started in Aurangabad on Saturday witnessed overcrowding. Despite the necessary arrangement for the lakhs of Muslims the venue looked short with thousands joining in. According to a report, some 5,000 policemen have been deployed from Aurangabad and other districts, which also include three officers of the rank of commissioner and assistant commissioner, 25 police inspectors and 70 sub-inspectors. Four companies of the State reserve Police Force (SRPF), 1,000 traffic police and eight squads of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) have also been called for the Ijtema.

The Ijtema begins with Namaz-e-Fajr on Saturday morning, followed by a series of lectures from different Muslim scholars and clerics.
The aim of the event is universal peace, brotherhood, development of country, the organisers said. Muslim scholars and experts will discuss various religious issues during the three-day event.
The organising committee has set up more than 20 to 25 various sub-committees and assigned them different types of responsibilities to make the event a success. Preparations for the event commenced nearly two months back, in which the members of the community participated voluntarily to help the committee make arrangements at the venue. Separate arrangements have also been made for dumb and deaf participants in the event.
Farmers from the Limbe-Jalgaon village have made available their lands to hold the mega event free-of-cost. Arrangements of food, drinking water, stay and other basic amenities have virtually been done. Ijtema organisers have obtained no-objection certificates (NOCs) from Police, Fire Brigade, Health Department, Public Works Department and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
MSEDCL has made arrangement of separate feeders of electricity for the event. The Maharashtra government has issued a GR stating that all the Urdu schools in the state will observe a holiday on the concluding day of Ijtema on February 26. Meanwhile, arrangement of several special trains and buses from different locations of the state and the country to the venue has been made.
All the toll plazas have been directed to exempt collection of toll from the vehicles coming for Ijtema, sources added.
