In a shocking incident, an 18-month-old baby girl was murdered by her aunt in Weaker Sections Colony of Bhavanipuram.
According to Chandanagar police, victim’s mother Renuka had an argument with her husband’s sister-in-law Rajya Lakshmi over some trivial issue on Tuesday evening. She reportedly abused her by taking the name of her child who died recently. A few minutes later, out of anger, Rajya Lakshmi took Renuka’s daughter Jyotsna and dumped her in the water sump and closed it.
Not finding Jyotsna for about an hour, the family members started searching her and were shocked to find Jyotsna’s body in the water sump.
Police have registered a case of murder under Section 302 and took Rajya Lakshmi into custody on Wednesday. (INN)
