Aung San Suu Kyi defends army for atrocities on Rohingyas

The Hague: Mynamar leader, Aung San Suu Kyi who is appearing at International Court of Justice defended the army for its atrocities meted out to the Rohingya Muslims.

She addressed the International Court of Justice last week. Her address disappointed her supporters when they heard her saying that the army of Myanamar did not commit any atrocities against the Rohingya Muslims. These actions come under the mass killing category.

Many critics opine that the responsibility of killing Rohingya Muslims is on her.

It may be mentioned that due to the atrocities of Mynamar army, ten lakh Rohingya Muslims fled away from the country.

In the beginning of this month, dozens of Rohingya Muslims were sent to jail in western province of Pathen under the charge of travelling illegally.

John E conley of ‘Forty five Rights group’ told that Rohingya Muslims have no freedom of movement. This group has submitted its report recently about compulsory labour and restrictions on citizenship rights.

The group hopes that the International Court of Justice should take immediate action to end violence against the Rohingyas in Mynamar.
