Hyderabad: The stage is set for grand ‘Dawat-e-Iftar’ being hosted by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for Muslims today i.e. on Sunday, June 2, at LB Stadium in Hyderabad. On the occasion, clothes and ‘Ramadan Gift Packets’ will be distributed to orphans. Nearly, 5,000 people are likely to attend the function. However keeping in view the anger among Muslims over the demolition of Masjid Eik Khana, Amberpet, the religious scholars and clerics are in a dilemma whether to attend or not to attend the Iftar party.
People are continuously appealing leaders of political and religious parties on social media to boycott CM KCR’s Iftar party to show anger on the demolition of the masjid. The silence of the ruling party ally has become the talk of the town.
In his address, on the occasion of Jummatul Vida at Makkah Masjid, the MIM president spoke on various national and international issues but didn’t say a word against the demolition of the city masjid. This has disappointed Muslims.
Some religious personalities have suggested representing the issue by attending the Iftar party instead of boycotting it.
