Although Criminal Cases under section 406 and 420 have been registered by Kukatpally Police Station against Mr. Syed Arif Uddin, a resident of Quazi Pura on a complaint made by AP State Wakf Board in connection with the illegal dealings of the land surrendering to Metro Rail Project by taking Rs. 1.85 crore from GHMC but no action has since been taken in this regard.
The amount taken from GHMC has also not been recovered. It is understood that political leaders and middle men have been activated to patch the issue. GHMC is not providing information to Wakf Board about the amount given to Mr. Arif Uddin. Earlier it was make to believe that Mr. Arif Uddin was given money not as the compensation for the land acquired by Metro Rail Project but for deslodging him from the place. If GHMC maintains that this amount has been given for dislodging the person from the place, then it has to give much more money to AP State Wakf Board as compensation for this land. It is alleged that a large portion of the amount has been given to the middle men who finalize the deal with GHMC . it is understood that Kukatpally police is also being prevented to take any criminal aciton against the person. This matter should have been referred to CB-CID since there is a provision to entrust monitory issues worth more than Rs. 20 lakhs to this agency. It is also said that a few public representatives have also been benefited in this deal. The Chairman of Wakf Board told that as per the Wakf records, Wakf Board itself is the Muthawalli of the said property. Violating the rules and regulations, the father of Mr. Syed Arif Uddin Quadri was made Muthawalli. According to his information he died. He express his surprise that despite the death of his father how is it that Mr. Arif Uddin was successful in getting the compensation. He todl that Wakf Board is trying to acquire original documents of the sale deed from GHMC.
Only after this it will be found whether amounts have been received by presenting fake documents are not. In this connection the involvement of any official of the Wakf Board also cannot be ruled out. However the Chairman of Wakf Board assured that after departmental enquiry the truth will be detected. He also assured the steps would be taken to recover the amount paid to Mr. Syed Arif Uddin Quadri.
