Attempt to murder case against Nitish Kumar by LJP

Patna, December 22: The Lok Janshakti Party today filed an attempt to murder case against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Patna SP Manu Maharaj after a lathicharge on party procession on December 17.

The complaint was filed under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 343 (wrongful restraint) of IPC and Harijan Adivasi Act against the chief minister, Maharaj, Deputy SP S K Sinha and SHO (Kotwali) Anoj Kumar.

Party activist Manti Das filed the case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate S P Singh who fixed January 12 as date of hearing in the case.

She alleged that police had lathicharged the LJP workers when they took out a procession to march to state assembly, to highlight the state government’s alleged apathy towards uplift of the Dalits and mahadalits, on December 17.
