Miscreants kidnapped Mr. Radhakrishan Rao, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax Department yesterday from the posh area of Jubilee Hills in the city. He, however, was successful in escaping from their clutches.
According to the details, Mr. Radha Krishna Rao returned home at 9:30 pm yesterday from his office situated at Nampally. Three unknown persons barged into his care near his house at Road No. 8 Filmnagar, Jubilee Hills and did not allow him to come out of his car. His driver, Raju fully cooperated with the kidnappers. It is said that the kidnappers tied his mouth with a cloth and later in Shamshabad area tied his hands also. They put him in the Dicky of his car and reached Mahboobnagar.
Acting smartly, Mr. Radhakrishna Rao united his hands and legs and jumped from the car when it slowed down its speed at a speed breaker. He reached Gopalpet police station and lodged a complaint. He, then informed his family members also. Police recorded his statement. He told the police that his care driver Raju demanded him to pay Rs. 30 lakh and snatch Rs. 3,400 from him. He also took away his ATM card and two cell phones.
Jubilee Hills police station registered a case and started investigations. The kidnappers have fled away with his car. Check posts have been setup in and around Mahboobnagar District.
