Attempt on JNU Dalit Professor Vivek Kumar in Gwalior a la Kanhaiya case ?

JNU professor Vivek Kumar and two associates has been attacked by some unidentified gunmen in a programme organised by Ambedkar forum here on Sunday. The professor was fired at when he reached the programme venue with his suppoters. The professor has escaped the bullet and is said to be safe, our sources added.

A large contingent of right wing activist were trying to subdue the Dalit organizer by threatening them that they will be booked under various IPC sections.
However, soon after the incident the situation at Bal Bhavan in the local municipality turned violent and scuffle broke out between the members of Ambedkar forum and Bhajyumo. The miscreants have went to an extent of damaging properties and interrupting the traffic. After getting information, police reached the spot and tried to disrupt the crowd by lathicharge. But the forces could not control the mob and the situation is said to be still not under control. The mob has torched few vehicles.

According to police sources, the officials are reviewing the situation and are taking all possible measures to bring the situation to normalcy. Keeping in view of recent attacks on media persons and lawyers at Patiala Court Complex in Delhi and JNU row, security forces in large numbers have been deployed in the area.
