Attempt to build temple in Osmania hospital premises all over again

Some anti-social elements who want to disrupt peace of the city, are repeatedly trying to build temple on the Waqf land of Dargah Hazrat Syed Sadat Baba adjacent to the gate of historical Osmania hospital by the side of River Moosi. Everytime police’s vigilance is foiling their nefarious attempt. 2000 sqyd land is recorded in Waqf gazette under the dargah, but sadly the miscreants have wiped out many graves by way of a planned conspiracy.

It must be noted that there is an old famous tamarind tree adjacent to the old gate of Osmania hospital. 150 persons had saved their lives by climbing upon the tree at the time of Moosi River flood on September 1908. Hence it is also called ‘life tree’. Three is a platform under the memorable tree. The miscreants are drawing pictures of various idols on the railing of the platform, to give a wrong impression that a temple exists at the place.

This is not the first time that efforts have been made to saffronize the graveyard but miscreants had also started pooja on June 27, 2009 by painting a Peepal tree and keeping photos under it. As soon as the news spread through media, police immediately came into action and removed the items. Similarly for the second time on January 28, 2012, pooja was started by keeping photo on the small boulders but after the publication of news in Siasat daily, police again foiled miscreants’ attempt. Now for the third the same game is being played. It is the foremost duty of the police to foil the attempt and it is the responsibility of Waqf board to cordon off the Waqf land so that such thing may not happen again.
