Kabul, September 10: A bomb attack in a NATO base in Afghanistan has reportedly killed at least two civilians and injured several foreign troops and local residents.
The bomb went off outside a British NATO base in the southern province of Helmand late on Wednesday, NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said.
“At least two Afghan civilians were killed, and several ISAF personnel and Afghan civilians were injured when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive vest near the entrance to Camp Bastion,” it said in a statement.
The number of civilian casualties has not been confirmed by Afghan officials.
This is the latest attack on an international military base in Afghanistan. On Tuesday, another bomb explosion outside a NATO airport killed three civilians and wounded nine people including foreign soldiers.
