Attack on Muslims and Jews likely: French President

The growing number of acts against Jews and Muslims threatens the country’s very foundations; spoke the French President Francois Hollande during a visit to a Jewish cemetery where about 250 Jewish graves in eastern France desecrated over the weekend.

The President noted that anti-Semitism and acts against Muslims are both on the rise in France, notably after attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris and a kosher supermarket the previous month.

The anti-Semitic acts mounted twofold in 2014 compared with 2013, and acts against Muslims in just the month after the attacks totalled the same as the entire previous year, pointed out Hollande.
