Attack on Minority family; main accused arrested

GURUGRAM: The attack on a family of a Muslim in Gurugram’s Bhup Singh Nagar on Friday triggered communal tension in the area.

According to the report published in Times Of India, police have arrested the master mind of the attack on 21 March, Sunday.

The victim’s family have submitted another video which they have shooted from the top of the building to the police, following which they have arrested Dhirender alias Dhire. The video clip purportedly shows that, one of the attacker used pistol and firing on the terrace, however no one was injured by gunshot.

Dhirender, who runs a dairy in the area, confessed to the crime saying he is the person who called other persons to attack the family with sticks, spear and hockey sticks. He will be produced in court on Monday, said police spokesperson.

According to the police, Dhirender said, when he was at his dairy two boys from Nayagaon came to him, who had an argument with some boys who were playing cricket.

“The two boys narrated the entire incident. I was at my dairy along with my friends. We called a few other people and attacked the house of the family with lathis,” the police quoted Dhirender as saying.

On Friday, the police had arrested Mahesh (22), a college student from Nayagaon, near Bhondsi and he is in custody.

Police have identified four other accused which are suspected to be from Nayagaon, and are expected to be arrested soon.

An FIR was registered on Thursday night at Bhondsi police station against unknown attackers, under sections 147 (rioting), 148 (unlawful assembly), 452 (trespassing), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC.
