ATS recovers car used in Ajmer blast

New Delhi, December 25: The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Saturday claimed to have made a breakthrough in the 2007 Ajmer blast probe, revealing it has recovered the car used in transporting the bomb.

Sources said the ATS recovered the black Hyundai Santro car a few days back from Madhya Pradesh. The car has an MP registration number: MP 43 0903.

ATS sources said the accused had used the same car to transport explosives -used in the Ajmer blast – first from Indore to Godhra and then to Ajmer.

TV channels also reported that five more accused have been identified in the case, namely Bhavesh, Divesh, Sunny, Mukesh and Mehul.

The bomb had exploded at the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in October 2007, in the presence of at least 5000 devotees.

Men belonging to the RSS have been linked to the blast, leading to a political controversy over right-wing terror.
