The houses and shops of the Muslim were also set on fire during an hour-long rampage. The dislodged Muslims were taking shelted in Police Station. Later, they were sent back to their houses with an assurance that they will be permitted to constructed mosque before Ramzan, but Suresh Chaudhary, a resident of Atali, filed a petition in the court immediately seeking a stay on the construction of the mosque. Contending there are several provisions prohibiting any construction on this property. The pleader of the Muslim community, Mr. Ratan Lal told the court that it had already ruled that the mosque is being constructed on land belonging to the Haryana Waqf Board. Civil judge, Vinay Sharma ruled that the lands is in possession of the Muslim community for a longer time and the Hindus failed to establish the fact that the property belongs to Village Panchayat.
The Court issued stay order to maintain status quo and hence the Muslims cannot complete the construction of the mosque before Ramazan.
