American Telugu Association (ATA), is celebrating its Silver Jubilee from 1st July 2016 in Chicago. ATA , the oldest and largest Telugu Association in USA, started in 1990 to promote Telugu culture and language across USA to the Gen X. It also extends a helping hand to the needy ones both in USA and in India.
Speaking to the Media here, its President-elect Asireddy Karunakar Reddy elaborated the programs they are undertaking both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, starting on December 6 and will go on till December 20, 2015. It includes 5K run on 19th December, Necklace Road, Hyderabad, Seminars on Higher Education, Andhra University, Vizag, (12th Dec), Osmania University, Hyderabad, (15th Dec), Women’s Forum/ Business Seminars at Shilparamam, (20th Dec) and concludes with Cultural Programs at Shilpakalavedika, in the Grand Finale of Dance Competitions. These Dance Competitions are unique in the sense the winners of each category will be specially flown to Chicago for their international Arangratram at the ATA Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
Specially, this initiative is being taken to Village level participation with Medical Camps in Surampally Village in Karimnagar district on 7th, Vagapur of Adilabad district on 8th, Amudalapadu of Mahaboobnagar district on 9th, Vadapalli of Nizamabad district on 10th, Tandur of RR district on 11th,Venkapally of Nalgonda district on 13th, Karimnagar on 14th, Khammam on 16th, Warangal on 17th and in Andhra Pradesh Visakhapatnam on 12th December. Efforts are also underway to take these activities to Guntur and Ananthpur districts.
