Assembly session was a flop show for Minorities-Shahbaz Ali Khan

Mr. Shahbaz Ali Khan Amjad, President of Mahdavia Quami Movement in a press statement issued yesterday said that the recent Assembly session of A.P. has proved to be a flop show for Minorities because no discussion were held for the welfare of Minorities. In the agenda , Minorities issues did not figure. There are many burning problems of Minorities concerning their education, employment and poverty. Govt. makes lofty claims for the welfare of Minorities but when the time comes for the implementation all these promises are over looked. Last year Govt. had allocated Rs.489 crore for Minorities but only Rs.300 crore were released. Last year Rs.270 crore were allocated for distribution of Scholarships but only Rs.102 crore were released for Minorities Residential School Rs.30 crore were allocated but nothing were released. Out of Rs. One core allocated for Muslim marriages only 75 % of the amount was released. For Urdu Academy also only 75% of the budget was released in this way Govt. did not released nearly Rs.200 crore. Since last year, Govt. transferred the budget of the department of Minorities Welfare to the Department of Social Welfare, many irregularities are being committed in payment of Scholarships and Fees reimbursement schemes.
