Assembly Polls: 20 percent voter turnout in WB, 15.90 percent in Assam till 9 am

Guwahati: The turnout by the voters in West Bengal and Assam were significant today with 20 percent and 15.90 percent being recorded respectively till 9 am respectively.

Voting is underway for the second part of the first phase of Assembly elections in West Bengal and for the second and final phase in Assam.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called on the voters from both Assam and West Bengal to cast their votes in large numbers.

“Requesting all those voting in Assam & West Bengal today to cast their vote in large numbers,” the Prime Minister tweeted today.

Meanwhile, voters were seen queuing up in long lines from the wee hours, showing their eagerness to cast their votes. (ANI)
