Telangana Government will conduct a special sessions of Legislature Assembly and Council on August 30 to extend support and solidarity to GST Bill passed by Parliament recently. The government is preparing to conduct a special session of Assembly at 11 am to approve the GST Bill as it is mandatory for the States to support the same.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a high-level meeting with Assembly Affairs Minister T Harish Rao and Legislature Secretary Raja Sadaram on conducting special session. He decided to invite Advocate-General Venkatram Reddy to the Assembly on the day to clarify on the new bill which needs a Constitutional amendment. The Chief Minister asked Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary and Chairman Swamy Goud to take necessary measures for the smooth conduct of the session.
The Assembly session is being conducted as Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently asked Telangana Government to pass the GST bill and support it at national level. It is likely that the special Assembly session will be conducted for five to seven working days so as to continue the Monsoon session and discuss important issues. (NSS)
