The State Legislative Assembly Implementation Committee here on held a meeting with the officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
The committee has decided to recollect Rs 7 crores paid to the building contractors in 2009 for construction of housing quarters for the employees of the TTD. Stating that some 548 acres of TTD land was encroached upon by unscrupulous elements, the committee chairman they would meet again to discuss the issue.
Speaking at the meeting, Routhu Suryaprakash Rao suggested that the lands and ornaments of the Devasthanam be digitized and kept in the website. The committee said the temple executive officer had assured to exhibit the unused ornaments of the Lord in the TTD Museum. (NSS)
