Assembly adjourned sine die after 16 days

The winter session of the Assembly and Council were adjourned sine die after 16 working days and passing 11 bills.

During 16-day, the legislature worked for 69 hours and 25 minutes. Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary and Council Chairman Swamy Goud adjourned the Houses sine die after completing the business. The speaker adjourned the House after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made some statements on crucial issues. A total of 11 bills were passed in the Assembly. Out of 140 questions raised on various issues, the House gave written replies for 58 items and 103 members have spoken.

Leader of the House K Chandrasekhar Rao and Ministers together made four statements. Short discussion was conducted on 11 items in the House. The issues discussed in the House during the session were Haritha Haram, eradication of cheap liquor and rehabilitation of affected persons, crop loan waiver, MSP, KCR Kits, land cleansing measures and survey, Minority welfare, Rs 8,000 crop investment to farmers and farmer coordination committees.

The House also discussed about unemployment problem, Gurukul Schools, basic facilities in schools, fees reimbursement, land reforms and new administration system. The House approved the bills such as PD Act amendment bill, Pattadar Pass Books, VAT amendment 2, Gaming, Excise, shops and establishment, road development corporation, Lokayukta, Endowment, Official language bills. The Chief Minister gave statements on 24-hour power supply, handloom industry, welfare of workers, World Telugu Conference and death of MRPS activist Bharati in the House. (NSS)
