New Delhi :Assembled bikes Tiger 800 XR bike launched in India on Monday by UK-based Triumph Motorcycles.
The bike which is priced at Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) will be assembled locally through the Completely knocked down (CKD) route in India.
CKD bike is one which is imported or exported in parts and not as one assembled unit.
“We are extremely happy to announce the launch of the new Tiger XR in just three months from the launch of the Tiger XRx and XCx, which have received tremendous positive response from our esteemed customers in the country,” Triumph Motorcycles India MD Vimal Sumbly said in a statement.
Such units are first sent to an assembly plant in the target country where all these parts are assembled and one complete vehicle is made using the imported components.
Triumph Motorcycles India has achieved sales of close to 2,000 units since the launching products 18 months ago in the country.
With the launch of Tiger XR the the company’s portfolio will now have four adventure motorcycles and a total of 14 bike in five categories.
