Assaulted youth approaches Human Rights Commission

Mr. Mohammed Akram was allegedly assaulted by police officers of Abids Police Station two days back. He approached Human Rights Commission yesterday and recorded his complaint. He went to Human Rights Commission accompanied by Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid, Corporator of Azampura. Municipal Division and told the tale of his grief to Mr. E. Peddireddy member of Human Rights Commission.

He told the Commission that police assaulted him after arresting him on the complaint by a shop owner. By doing so, the police has indulged in performing an inhuman act. He told that police searched his house and had beaten up using third degree method.

He also told that he was stripped off his clothes and was beaten up. He informed the Commission that due to police assault, his health got deteriorated. He has been suffering from fever for the past four days. He is getting blood in his urine. He told that he is very much afraid of due to police assault.

Police is now threatening him through its informers not to lodge any complaint against them. He also informed that he is getting up frequently from sleep and he is obsessed with fear.

Human Right Commission issued notice to Commissioner of Police asking him to submit his replying before 22nd April 2013. Speaking to newsmen outside the office of Human Rights Commission, Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid told that the higher officials of police are not prepared to listen to the complaint of Mohammed Akram under pressure from high officials.

He told that police has resorted to torture behaving in a narrow-minded manner and to take revenge from the Muslim youths. This kind of attitude of the police won’t be tolerated any more, Mr. Khalid said.

He blamed the police officials that they are trying to protect the policemen. This kind of police behaviour tantamount to promoting atrocities instead of eradicating them.
