Tirunelveli (TN), August 10: An MLA of ruling DMK is in trouble with an official of the Anna University here filing a police complaint alleging that the legislator assaulted him during the institution’s first convocation.
Director of Physical Education S Devadoss in his complaint alleged that N Malairaja, a local MLA, assaulted him in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor and others on Saturday.
Police said the complaint had been forwarded by Police Commissioner Abhay Kumar Singh to the jursdictional police station for investigation and registering a case.
Devadoss said the MLA, his Personal Assistant A Venkatesh and some others assaulted him when he tried to mediate during an altercation between Malairaja and Vice-Chancellor Kaliappan.
