Assam: SC to hear D Voters’ case today

New Delhi: Supreme Court on Monday, July 2, will hear the petition challenging Gauhati High Court verdict with regard to D Voters. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and Assam Muslim Students Union have made all preparations in this connection. Lakhs of Muslims of Assam are worried due to Gauhati High Court verdict now hope for justice from the Supreme Court.

Aiming at providing justice to lakhs of Muslims in Assam in Punjab certificate case, President Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind Maulana Syed Arshad Madani has once again decided to field a team of strong advocates. It has hired noted senior advocate Kapil Sibal for D voter case, while senior Supreme Court advocate Indira Jai Singh will argue against the Gauhati High Court verdict.

It must be noted that the Gauhati High Court’s order in 2011 had barred the D-voters from casting votes.
