(Siasat News)According to a press note issued by Mr. Ilyas Shamsi, member, All India Milli Council, New Delhi, Muslim and Christian leaders of Assam have decided to organize a meeting of the representatives of Bodo and Non-Bodo experts and intellectuals on 22nd September in New Delhi to find out ways and means to perform relief and rehabilitation work in Assam in a systematic way.
An ad-hoc body of five members has been constituted to finalize the details of the agenda for the proposed meeting. This committee includes Mr. Samuel Vijaya Kumar, Father Dominic Dobrey, Mr. Franklin C.Thomas, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Advocate, Supreme Court and Senior Journalist, Mr. Aasif. This was decided in a meeting of National Council of Churches of India held in New Delhi yesterday. This meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammed Manzoor Alam, General Secretary of All India Milli Council, Mr. Aarif Mohammed of Centre for Social Justice Hyderabad, Father Deva Silgayaraj, Anthony Orwell Raj, Mr. S.Raju, Mr. Joshua, President of bal Dalith Minorities Peace Movement and Mr. Mohammed Athaur Rahman of Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi.
Earlier, the committee discussed the report of the National Council of Churches and All India Milli Council about the relief works carried out in Assam. It was felt that in order to find out a permanent solution to Assam issue, a joint meeting is necessary. It was also decided that meeting of the Core Committee should be held in New Delhi to finalize the details of the High Level Committee to be held in New Delhi on 22nd September 2012.
