Assam: 3 army jawans killed in encounter with ULFA terrorists

Tinsukia: Three army jawans were killed as an IED blast ripped through the site of an encounter between security forces and ULFA terrorist in Assam’s Tinsukia.

The initial death deal was one, while four others were injured in the encounter at Pengri in Tinsukia district, Director General of Assam Police Mukesh Sahay said on Saturday.

The army cordoned off the jungle in Pengri and launched an encounter at 5.30 am, which is still underway, he added. The injured jawans were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
