Riyadh: Adel Al-Jubeir, Saudi Foreign Minister said that Bashar Al-Assad, Syrian President is responsible for the Syrian Crisis and must step down. He also said that Saudi Arabia’s stand is not changed on the Syrian Crisis.
Speaking at a Joint Press Conference with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius in the Saudi capital, Al-Jubeir said that Saudi officials is in dialogue with Russian officials for the Assad’s departure in any future settlement. He also added that Assad has no future in Syria.
Commenting on the remark of former Yemen President, Ali Abdullah Saleh that Iran has no role in Yemen, Al-Jubeir said that Iranians are the cause of violence in Yemen and are backing Houthi rebels with weapons and military supports. He also added that military operation by Saudi Arabia in Yemen is to end the conflict and free the country from terrorism.
Earlier, Al-Jubeir said that Syrian President, Bashar Al-Assad must leave the office or face being turfed out by force. He also warned to increase the support to Syrian rebel groups.
Asad has two options, one option is a political process which is a prefered option other is a military option, Al-Jubeir warned.
