ASP reiterates charge against SP, seek CBI inquiry

The row between two IPS officers of East Godavari district took a new twist today, with the Asst Superintendent of Police Rampachodavaram Naveen Kumar reiterating his charges against the East Godavari Superintendent of Police Dr C Trivikram Varma and coming out with the fresh demand for CBI inquiry.

He told UNI that the inquiry conducted by the DIG Eluru range was biased and did not take into consideration the evidence produced by him against the SP. ‘Moreover, the DIG was trying to give a picture branding me as indisciplined making baseless charges against the superiors.

Every attempt was being made to dilute the case forcing the witnesses to conceal the facts in the inquiry. What appeared in the press and DIG’s open utterances gave me the opinion and suspicion that justice would not be rendered to me and the whole inquiry process is one sided. An attempt was made on my life.

‘I was very much present in the vehicle that met with an accident .But they were trying to make it as false saying that I did not travel in that vehicle. The accident photos published in news papers prove my charge,’ he added.

In these circumstances, there is no alternative left to me except seeking an impartial inquiry by an independent agency preferably by the CBI. I would not hesitate even to seek recourse to law if necessary approaching the High court seeking Justice’ he asserted.

Making another charge that in the Ganja smuggling the hand of another senior officer of DG rank is there, the ASP said that everything would come out if an impartial inquiry by an independent agency is ordered. ‘How could a common man expect justice from police when an IPS officer like me was subjected to great injustice ?’,he lamented.
