Lucknow, August 14: The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday sought Centre’s help for arranging necessary swine flu testing facilities in the state, where 15 people have tested positive for the virus so far.
At a meeting with nodal officer for the state RK Singh, Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta asked the central government to ensure availability of necessary medicines, masks and personal security kit for doctors.
He also asked the Centre to authorise BHU, Varanasi, for “P2-level testing” and said the state government was upgrading testing facilities available in all its medical colleges and SGPGI.
“The Centre should support us in the job by ensuring timely availability of equipments,” Gupta said.
A swine flu control task force had been constituted in every district, headed by its district magistrate, to keep an eye on the cases and ensure that patients get proper treatment.
Besides, rapid response teams and a 24-hour control room at state level have also been setup by the state government, he said.
