(Siasat News) There was commotion in Mehdipatnam area when Asifnagar Traffic police started harassing the public in the name of traffic violations. In one such incident, despite payment of fine amount, the policeman locked the vehicle and started misbehaving.People got irritated and within a few minutes, a large number of persons assembled at Mehdipatnam crossroads and protested against he misbehavior of the police. Asifngar police dispersed the crowd by resorting to lathi charge but Mr. Narsaiah, Inspector of Police refuted that lathi charge was used.
According to reports, a person belonging to the family of Mr. Osman Bin Mohammed Al-Hajiri’s family was going home from hospital in his car. Police fined him Rs. 800 for not having the driving license. Despite paying the fine amount, the police constable locked the car and started arguments. Many people gathered on the road and protested against the wrong attitude of police. Receiving the news, Mr. Osman Bin Mohammed Al-Hajiri also reached there and recorded his protest. Local residents complained that Traffic Police Inspector, Mr. Ravi Kumar is doing excesses. He imposes heavy fines and misbehaves. Citizens grumbled that the duty of traffic police is to control traffic, who has given them the authority to impose fines?
