Kendrapara: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police was arrested in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Thursday on charges of sodomising a home guard inside an outpost.
Mahendra Behera (52), who was officiating head of Choudkulat police outpost under Pattamundai Police Station, allegedly sodomised a home guard Thursday night at the outpost, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kedarnath Sahoo.
The arrest was made after an FIR was registered on the complaint of the 25-year-old victim, posted at the outpost.
Medical examination of both the accused and the victim has confirmed the act of sodomy, he said.
The accused has been booked under sections 377 (sex against the order of nature), 342 (wrongful confinement), 294 (obscene act) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, Sahoo said.
