Asghar Ali Acquitted in Faiyaz Baig escape case

The Seventh Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge at Nampally Criminal Court acquitted Mohammed Asghar Ali and his associate Abdul Bari in the MirzaFayazBaig escape episode on Monday.

Asghar Ali was arrested by the city police soon after he was acquitted by the Gujarat high court in the Haren Pandya murder case in 2011. Abdul Bari was also taken into custody then.

Mirza Faiyaz Baig who an accused in the murder of BJP municipal councilor Nandraj Goud in 1996 had escaped from the Nampally court when he was brought for trial there. According to police sources, Abdul Bari came out of the prison on Monday evening as the release orders were served.

Asghar Ali who is said to be in Nalgonda in connection with trial in two other criminal cases would not be released. Apart from the cases in Nalgonda there is also the tiffin bomb blast case of 1999 of Moghalpura against Asghar Ali.In November 2011 the prisons department had shifted Asghar Ali and Abdul Bari to Visakapatnam and Rajahmundry jails respectively on administrative grounds. They were described as high security prisoners.
