Hyderabad: The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) and the Agricultural Marketing Department of the Telangana government, would soon enter into an agreement to strengthen the agri marketing systems in the state.
A team comprising officials from the department and experts from ASCI would undertake visits to study the best marketing practices in the country. To start with, it would visit the markets in neighbouring Karnataka.
Telangana Minister for Marketing T Harish Rao announced this after chairing a meeting held at ASCI’s Bella Vista campus here, an official release said today.
ASCI Chairman K Padmanabhaiah led an experts team which came up with suggestions to help out for improvement of the Agricultural Marketing activities.
The priority initiatives for cooperation include knowledge support for e-integration of markets, research and evaluation studies and capacity building activities.
ASCI experts were also asked to help the department in simplifying the existing Acts and rules.
A team of officials led by A Sharath, Commissioner and Director, Department of Agricultural Marketing; ASCI’s Director General Paramita Dasgupta and the Director of the Centre for Public Policy, Performance and Governance M Chandrasekhar took part in the deliberations, the release said.
