Jodhpur: Self-styled godman and a rape convict Asaram believed that there is no sin for Brahmagyani (highly enlightened person) in sexual exploitation of girls, said a prosecution witness in the court during the trial on Wednesday.
The disgraced godman would also consume medicines to improve his sexual powers, said prosecution witness Rahul K Sachar, who was an Asaram’s follower and could access Asaram’s abode (kutia). He deposed in the court that he had seen Asaram molesting girls in his ashrams in 2003 in Pushkar, Bhiwani and Ahmedabad.
Sachar added that Asaram would keep three girls with him, and would throw torchlight to signal them for getting the targeted girls. He said that when he peeped in Asaram’s ‘kutia’ after climbing its wall, he saw the godman molesting a girl, TOI reported quoting a leading News Agency.
On this, Sachar said that he wrote to the godman to question his deed, for which he got no response. After getting no response even for the second letter, Sachar forcefully entered the ‘kutia’ and asked why Bapu was quiet on his questions; Asaram responded saying, “Brahmgiani ko ye sab karne se paap nahi lagta (It’s not a sin for a ‘Brahmgyani’ to do so).”
The witness said that he then questioned Asaram whether a ‘Bhramgyani’ could have such desires, Asaram quietly went inside and asked his men to throw Sachar out of the ‘kutia’. He further said that the three girls appointed by Asaram were also involved in his victims’ abortions.
Asaram has been awarded life-long jail term on Wednesday by the Jodhpur special POSCO court for raping a teenage girl who studied at his ashram. The 77-year-old godman is kept in Jodhpur Central jail since September 1, 2013.
