Secretary AICC and Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumanth Rao has called the entry of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) in Bihar elections an attempt to “polarize” voters which will help the BJP. He dubbed MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi as an opportunist.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi he told that MIM never contested on 40 assembly constituencies out of 294 assembly constituencies of united Andhra Pradesh nor fielded its candidates in such a large numbers in 119 assembly constituencies of Telangana state. He claimed that it had been learnt from reliable sources that BJP National president Amit Shah and MIM president had entered into a secret pact. This is the reason why MIM is contesting in Bihar to help communal BJP. He asserted that Majlis president by announcing to combat with communal forces was deceiving Muslims.
