Hyderabad MP and MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi and GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain inspected the Tippu Khan Bridge at Langar House on Friday.
Karwan MLA Mohammed Kauser Mohiuddin, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and senior officials of GHMC and Army official of 3TRG and MT Regiment were also present. Later, the team visited the Army Head Quarters at Artillery Center in Golconda on the request of the Army officials where it had interactions regarding a proposal of Foot Over Bridge (FoB) at Tippu Khan Bridge.
The Army officials have requested for construction of a FOB at Tippu Khan Bridge for crossing of pedestrians from one side to another as the road is choked with heavy traffic movement and is becoming difficult for the pedestrian to cross the road during the peak hours. Responding to the request, the GHMC Commissioner directed the officials to put up the proposals at the earliest so that the FOB works can be taken up on priority.
Somesh Kumar informed that the GHMC is planning to take up 100 new FOBs in the GHMC jurisdiction. Nearly 70 places have been identified and another 30 will be identified soon. The proposed FOBs would have the facility of lifts on either side which will be helpful even to physically challenged persons.
GHMC Central Zone Commissioner Dr. Satyanarayana, Engineer-in-Chief R Dhan Singh, Chief Engineer K Suresh, Chief City Planner Devender Reddy, Commanding Officer P Kiran Kumar, Battery Commander AS Mukherjee and other senior officials of Engineering, Town Planning and Health wings have participated in the visit.
