Asaduddin Owaisi denied entry into Bijapur limits for one week

Karnataka’s Vijayapur (Erstwhile Bijapur) Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate on Tuesday served a notice on AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi prohibiting his entry into the Bijapur limits for one week.

It may recalled that the AIMIM had Scheduled it’s public meeting at Afzalpur Takiya in Bijapur on 1st June which was to be addressed by Barrister Owaisi and other leaders.

However, on Tuesday, a police team from Bijapur visited AIMIM Headquarters at Darusalam in Hyderabad and served the notice on behalf of Bijapur Collector D. Randeep on Owaisi.

The District Collector Said that, in exercise of the powers vested in him under Section 144 (3) of Criminal Procedure Code, he was imposing prohibitory orders banning the entry of Asaduddin Owaisi in Bijapur City and restraining him from participating in and or speaking at any public meeting in Bijapur City for a period of 7 days.

Responding to the notice, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “I will abide by the order and I have never violated any order given to me so far. The Contents of the notice served on me were completely biased and untruthful” . He said that he would continue to strive for the right of minorities, weaker sections and Backward Class.

He charged that the notice was “convenient device” to stop his party from strengthening its base in Bijapur. “I will criticize ruling congress party in Karnataka for their anti people policies,” he said. (INN)
