MIM president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has opposed the Centre issuing ordinance merging 200 affected villages of Polavaram project in Khammam district, into Andhra Pradesh.
Owaisi called on the state governor E S L Narasimhan and lodged his party’s protest. He protested the Centre’s ordinance to hand over 200 villages of Telangana to Andhra Pradesh for Polavaram irrigation project under Bhadrachalam and Palvancha mandals in Khammam district.
Speaking to media after calling on the governor, the MIM president said it was not proper to issue ordinance when parliament session is about to be convened shortly. A decision should have taken after consulting chief ministers of the two new states.
Owaisi demanded a judicial inquiry into communal clashes that reported in Kishanbagh area of the city recently.(NSS)
