Asad Owaisi condemns Naidu’s alliance with BJP

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday strongly criticised TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for entering into an alliance with the BJP.

Speaking to media persons at Darulsalaam, Asad Owaisi reminded that Naidu had expressed regret and even apologised for continuing the alliance with the BJP even after Gujarat riots of 2002. However, the TDP chief has now decided to go along with the BJP only to grab power and for personal gains, he alleged. He said that the renewal of alliance would spell death-knell for the TDP in State politics.

Asad Owaisi said that the MIM would properly guide the people under these changed circumstances. He announced that the MIM would announce the remaining candidates for the ensuing elections in the next two days. He said that the MIM would be fielding non-Muslims candidates to prove that it is secular. However, he said the parties which have been claiming to be secular have shown communal colours. He said that the MIM would not any pre-poll alliance although it would take a decision on post-poll alliance to keep the communal forces away from power.

When asked about his friendship with YSR Congress Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy, the MIM chief said that he had good relationship with all politicians. He hoped that Jagan would not sail with the BJP after elections.

Asad Owaisi also said that he would soon learn Telugu and would deliver speeches in Telugu in 2019 elections.

Earlier, he admitted 270 doctors and about 500 engineers into the party. MIM leaders Dr Asad Sabri, Syed Mahmood Hussaini and Syed Hasnain Sabri were also present on the occasion. (INN)
