Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar today instructed GHMC Commissioner to immediately place one Assistant Engineer of GHMC under suspension for sheer negligence in his duties. Charge memos will also be issued to the concerned Deputy Executive Engineer and the Executive Engineer, he ordered.
Arvind Kumar inspected the Vaccum Dewatering Cement Concrete (VDCC) road works near the Hyline Restaurant today. The work was grounded in September with an estimated cost of Rs 1.3 crore. Arvind Kumar noticed that the approach road towards Abids was not done properly and felt that there was negligence on the part of the field level officers resulting in a lot of inconvenience to the road users. The Principal Secretary said any lapse in the safety of the public by way of improper approaches or road sides not being attended properly will be viewed seriously.
Arvind Kumar instructed the GHMC Commissioner to immediately suspend concerned Assistant Engineer Venugopal. He also said charge memos have been issued to the concerned Deputy Executive Engineer Venkatnarayana and Executive Engineer Anup Kumar. The Principal Secretary has warned that in future any lapses are observed, the concerned Assistant Engineer and Deputy Executive Engineer will be suspended without notice.
