New Delhi: BJP has condemned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for using objectionable words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said in doing so he has insulted the country and its people, especially those in Delhi who elected him with a huge mandate.
Accusing Kejriwal of treading the “wrong path” and doing acts which are not in his purview, BJP advised him to work within his limits and respect democracy to provide good governance and work for people’s welfare instead.
The BJP attack came soon after Kejriwal stood by his words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he called a ‘coward’ and went on to say that if someone shoots through someone else’s shoulders, they are cowardly.
BJP also charged him with “mastering” the art of speaking lies and committing the “sin” of using “bad words” against the Prime Minister and said he should be prepared to go to jail for making false allegations against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the DDCA issue.
“Arvind Kejriwal is conspiring to destroy country’s image in the world by using objectionable words against the Prime Minister, who has enhanced this image across the world. You are insulting the country and its people, especially those in Delhi who elected you with a huge majority.
“You are an elected Chief Minister. You have crossed the ‘lakshman rekha’ by using objectionable words against the Prime Minister. You are a master in speaking lies and are a ‘lying machine’. You should remain within limits and respect democracy. BJP strongly condemns your actions,” BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
He accused Kejriwal of trying to deflect media attention by speaking lies all the time and asked him to remain within the “limits of democracy” as BJP will not stoop to his level.
“You emerged as a hero from the anti-corruption movement, but your deeds and actions changed after you reached Delhi secretariat. You are supporting and protecting the corrupt and in doing so, you are shamelessly using objectionable words against the Prime Minister. You are insulting the people of the country just to protect a corrupt official,” he said.
Sharma also attacked him for adopting the “habit of moving on wrong side” and blaming the Prime Minister after meeting with any crash and charged him with not wanting to work in Delhi.
