LUCKNOW: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas filed a petition in the Allahabad high court on Wednesday challenging summons issued against them by a lower court in connection with a case of allegedly making provocative speeches during the last Lok Sabha elections.
The petition is likely to come up for hearing on October 21.
According to petitioner’s counsel Onkar Pandey, on April 20, 2014, during Lok Sabha election, an FIR was lodged by the Assistant Election Officer against the two leaders for allegedly making provocative speeches in Gauriganj area of Amethi constituency represented by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
A charge sheet was filed in the case on April 13 and on October 7 this year the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sultanpur issued orders summoning them.
They have challenged the order before the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, Mr Pandey said.
