Former minister and Congress leader D K Aruna said that she will undertake padayatra from July 19 demanding the state government to make the Gadwal a new district.
Aruna announced that she will take up padayatra from Jammulamma temple to Alampur Jogulamba temple. She said that Gadwal is deemed fit to be upgraded as a district and added that the state government was not making Gadwal a new district due to political compulsions. If administration ease is being pointed out as a reason for creation of new district, then Gadwal is a large revenue division and it is fit to be declared as the new district, the former minister added.
