A war of words is going on between the Congress and TRS leaders over the merger of the pink party.
Speaking to the media on the issue, former minister D K Aruna said it was not proper for TRS supremo KCR to put conditions for merger of his party with the Congress. She reminded that KCR once had said that if Congress announces Telangana State, he would merge his party in the Congress unconditionally. “Our party president Sonia Gandhi ensured passage of Telangana Bill in Parliament under tremendous pressure from various quarters.
Aruna clarified that the people had voted for Telangana and not for KCR in the region. She also said that AICC leader in charge of AP affairs Digvijay Singh told them that elections would be held as scheduled. “We will support whoever would be made chief minister”, she said.
The Telangana ministers this morning called on Digvijay Singh here. (NSS)
