Hyderabad: Despite speculations that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will steal many jobs available in the market, a policy think-tank Broadband India Forum (BIF) claimed that AI and Internet of Things (IoT) will create more than 28 lakh jobs in rural India in the next 8-10 years.
According to the report published in The Hans India, a study which was done by BIF in consultation with Electronic Skill Council of India, the Agriculture Skill Council and the Healthcare Sector Skill Council claimed that out of 28 lakh jobs, 21 lakh will be in Agriculture Sector and 7 lakh in the rural healthcare sector.
As per Nasscom, in 2018, the performance of the industry was affected due to the shortfall of skilled workforce.
It may be mentioned that in the future, AI, IoT and Big Data is going to play a major role in the IT industry.
It is also reported that as per the World Economic Forum, 54% of the total workforce need to upgrade their skill to continue in Digital Technology.
Till 2021, AI is likely to increase the productivity of the employees however, they have to upgrade their skill.
