ART centre inaugurated in Hyderabad hospital

Hyderabad, August 08: An anti-retro viral therapy (ART)centre at the district hospital in King Koti here was today inaugurated by the Minister for Health and Family WelfareDanam Nagendar.

Speaking to media persons, the Minister said that the ART centre would be very useful in helping HIV patients in the state.

He said that Hyderabad has four anti-retro therapy centres at Osmania, Gandhi, Chest and Niloufer hospitals. The Andhra Pradesh State Aids Control Board has a target to establish five new ART centres and 25 link ART centres in addition to nine community care centres (CCCs) for 2009-10.

Besides these, two private sector hospitals have been identified for providing ART services. The State government has allocated Rs 10.46 crore budget to start ARTs and CCCs centres in the State.
