Hyderabad, September 20: Arshad the self styled financer who pushed off Sameera Begum from Historic Charminar has been released on bail. In June this year Arshad was arrested by the Charminar Police after the victim Sameera Begum named him in the dying declaration in the Osmania Hospital.
The release of Arshad on bail has raised several questions on police credibility as it is alleged to have not opposed the bail in court and also did not filed the chargesheet in the court that facilitated his release.
Sameera with injuries from the toe to the temple was not in a position to explain how the incident happened and what could be the motive for the attempt on her life. All that she could tell the police was her father’s name is Mohammed Yousuf from Talabkatta and she came to Charminar with Arshad and he puhsed her from first floor of Charminar.
Sameera’s family members, further alleged that Arshad was a financer and was exploiting her to recover a loan he had given to her parents. They also alleged that he had kept the girl in his custody for four days to recover the loan. Sameera’s father Mohammed Yousuf, a petty vendor, had taken a loan of Rs.6,000 from Arshad a few months ago and this, with interest, had increased to Rs.14,000.
The relatives of Sameera Begum are alleging that since the arrest of Arshad the police is trying to shield him and also made efforts to prove him a lover rather than a financer.
